Creating Plans

Before Beginning: Make sure your inputs are created. You may have already completed this process via Machine Integration or the Data Reference Sheet. To ensure they’re in your account, go to PRODUCTION > SETUP > Inputs.

  • Create Activity Templates to capture all inputs, labor, or third party services for all activities.

    • Select PLANNING > TEMPLATES > Activity Templates.

    • Hit New Activity Template.

    • Enter the Template Name, Activity Type and Equipment Type.

    • Enter Crop Type only if you use this Template for one crop type, otherwise leave blank.

    • Tip: Leave Crop Year blank if you plan on performing this activity year over year.

    • Click Add Input/Activity.

    • Enter the Input, Unit, Rate, Source, and select Create.

  • Create Crop Plans for every crop and variety on your operation - for instance, we recommend creating a “Dryland Corn” plan and an “Irrigated Corn” plan if you have both.

    • Select PLANNING > PLANS > Crop Plans.

    • Hit Add New Plan > Create New Crop Plan.

    • Enter a Crop Plan name, Crop Type and Crop Year.

    • Hit drop-down on Performance Metrics and add expected Yield per Acre, Price. per pound, and any Land Costs per Acre.

    • Select the month and year to start your plan.

    • Slide in all activities from the Activity Templates into the month and order you will be completing them and save once complete or hit Create New under Activities on the right-hand side of the page to create activities manually.

    • Tip: Use Performance Metrics to dial in your margins for each crop.

  • Create Field Plans from your Crop Plans.

    • Select PLANNING > PLANS > Field Plans.

    • Hit Assign Crop Plans to Fields.

    • Select Crop Year and leave Scenario at Target and hit Next.

      • Tip: You can come back and create other Field Plans with other Scenarios - for instance, a low yield scenario or a high price scenario.

    • Choose the Crop Plan and hit Next.

    • Select the fields you want to apply this Crop Plan to.

    • Click Assign.

Tip: If you have data in Conservis from a previous year, you can Create a new Crop Plan from your previous year's data. Instead of selecting Create New Crop Plan, select Create from Previous Year's Data.
