We gather as much data as we can automatically through integrations with John Deere and Climate Fieldview. If that’s not possible, we can import large amounts of inputs through the Data Reference Sheet when your operation joined Conservis. As your business grows and changes, you’ll likely need to add more inputs one at a time. Follow the instructions to add a new input into Conservis.

To Create an Input:

  • Hit PRODUCTION > SETUP > Inputs.

  • Select New Input.

  • Under Category

    • Select a Category

    • Select a SubCategory or Crop. The initial category you chose will guide what other fields appear in this column

  • Enter the Name of the input.

    • If you are entering a chemical or seed, choose a name from CDMS Name dropdown.

    • If it isn’t a chemical or seed, disregard CDMS and type the Name for this input.

  • Fill in Measurement Details

    • Conservis will fill in typical application and inventory units with default Seeds/Unit and Seeds/lb values for about 30 crop types. If your Seeds/Unit or other values aren’t typical industry values, you can always override them.

    • If you are not adding a seed, then select the appropriate application and inventory units.

      • Under Inventory, choose how you like to see inputs on your inventory reports.

      • Under Application, choose how you like to see inputs on your application reports. Note: If your measurement type is a volume and your default inventory units are in weight, the system will require you to fill out a “Lbs per Gallon” conversion.

  • Always add the default cost for the current year. This is important for:

    • Crop Planning, to bring in costs.

    • Costing in general, if you don’t want to track input inventory.

  • Under More Details you can also add the following:

    • Manufacturer and Regulatory Details

    • Default application rate if applicable, which will pre-fill Work Orders and non-machine made tickets.

    • Instructions

    • Attachments

  • Press Save.
